Some courses use Pearson MyLab and Mastering for instruction, practice, and quizzes. If you are taking a course that uses one of these, you will have purchased either a textbook with access code or you may have purchased only an access code. In either case, you should log into D2L as usual for further instructions from your instructor, located either in an announcement on the course home page or in the Content area. You may be provided with either a "course ID" or a link to the website for MyMath Lab. Please refer to the proper instructions below for each method.
Course ID
If the instructor is providing a course id to students, typically in an announcement on the course home page, that means they are not using the Pearson/Brightspace integration with this course and you will need to do the following.
- In your web browser, go to https://mlm.pearson.com/northamerica/
- If you already have an account with Pearson:
- Click on Sign In.
- Login with your Pearson username and password.
- Click Enroll in a course.
- Enter the Course ID that was provided by your instructor.
- Click Continue.
- Enter the Access Code you purchased from the bookstore.
- Once your access code is accepted, you should have access to the course materials in the Pearson MyLab and Mastering website.
- If you do not already have an account with Pearson:
- Click on Student under Register.
- Click Ok! Register Now.
- Enter the Course ID provided by your instructor and click Continue to Register.
- Enter all other details requested by Pearson to create your Pearson account.
- Once your account has been created, you should be prompted to enter the Access Code that was purchased from the bookstore.
- Enter the Access Code and continue.
- Once the Access Code is accepted, you should have access to the course materials in the Pearson MyLab and Mastering website.
Pearson/Brightspace Integration
If the instructor is using the Pearson/Brightspace integration, you will see a Pearson MyLab and Mastering widget on the course home page, typically under the announcements section. You will need to do the following.
- Click on the link in the widget.
- Click the Open MyLab and Mastering button.
- Click the I Accept button.
- If you already have an account with Pearson:
- Enter your Pearson username and password and click Sign In.
- Confirm the course you are trying to enroll in.
- You should now have access to the course in Pearson's site.
- To access Pearson MyLab and Mastering from this point, you can either navigate to the course in Brightspace and click on the MyLab and Mastering widget, or you can go directly to https://mlm.pearson.com/northamerica/ click Sign In and sign in with your Pearson login credentials. All work done in MyLab and Mastering will be accessible to the instructor for grading regardless of your method of login.
- If you do not already have an account with Pearson:
- Click on Create.
- Complete the registration form and click Create Account.
- Confirm the course you are trying to enroll in.
- You should now have access to the course in Pearson's site.
- To access Pearson MyLab and Mastering from this point, you can either navigate to the course in Brightspace and click on the MyLab and Mastering widget, or you can go directly to https://mlm.pearson.com/northamerica/ click Sign In and sign in with your Pearson login credentials. All work done in MyLab and Mastering will be accessible to the instructor for grading regardless of your method of login.
