How do students install Office for free?
Students can install office directly from our gfcmsu.edu website. 1. Navigate to www.gfcmsu.edu, after that, click on students in the top-left section. 2. On that page, locate the white envelope in the upper-left, this will prompt to sign in to Microsoft. 3. The credentials will be your NetID@gfcmsu.edu (your NetID usually looks like this: "a123b45"), followed by the password you have set to access Bannerweb or D2L. 4. Once you've signed in, in the top right of the office home page, you can see a white button that says "Install Apps", click that and select "Microsoft 365 Apps". Note that this includes the entire Office 365 Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, OneDrive, and OneNote) 5. Run the file either from your browser downloads (this is usually in the top right of your browser with an icon of an arrow pointing downwards.) Or, you can find it by opening File Explorer on your device, then navigating to downloads. Connecting to the Student Wireless at GFCMSU.
Students can sign into the “Student-GFC” Wireless Network on campus by utilizing their NetID and password. These credentials are the same credentials you use for BannerWeb/MyInfo, D2L, and your Office account. Step 1: Bring your device anywhere on campus, then open your wireless settings. For Windows, it is located here: For Mac it is located here: . Step 2: Click on this icon, and you should see the available wireless networks around you Click on “Student-GFC” and hit “Connect”, when prompted for credentials, you will utilize your NetID as the username, and the password you have set for BannerWeb, D2L, and Office. NOTE: If you have connectivity errors, restart your device, then disconnect from any wireless networks you are connected to, and try again. If you receive an “Invalid Credentials” error message, please reset your password for BannerWeb, D2L, and Office by navigating to our password.gfcmsu.edu website.
