Faculty - How2 Copy A Rubric From Another Course

The instructions below explain how to copy a rubric from one course that you have instructor access to into another course that you have instructor access to. 


  1. Navigate to the course that you are trying to import the rubric into. 
  2. Click on "Course Admin".
  3. Click on "Import/Export/Copy Components".
  4. Leave the radio button on "Copy Components From Another Org Unit" and click on "Search For Offering". 
  5. Search for the course you are trying to copy the rubric from. You can use the name, course code, year, year with term (201930, for example). 
  6. Select the course by clicking the radio button to the left of its name and click "Add Selected". 
  7. Click the "Select Components" button. Very important note: If you click on Copy All Components, you will be copying the entire course into this course, so be sure to click on "Select Components".
  8. On the next page, scroll down to Rubrics and check the box next to the title Rubrics. 
    1. If you want to copy all Rubrics from the previous course, select "Copy all items". 
    2. If you want to copy a specific rubric from the previous course, select "Select individual items to copy". 
    3. Click "Continue".
  9. Select the individual Rubric(s) you wish to copy and click "Continue". 
  10. If you need to offset dates from the previous course you can do so here, otherwise just click "Finish".
