What is Adobe Reader and how do I get it?
Adobe Reader is free software provided by Adobe that allows users to open PDF documents. In most cases, it is not necessary to install Adobe Reader to view PDF documents due to PDF viewer functionality being "built-in" to so many of the devices and software that we use on a daily basis. For example, all major web browsers include a PDF viewer, Windows and Apple computer operating systems have built-in PDF viewers, and even Brightspace is able to render PDF files that instructors upload to Content, so they can be viewed directly from within the Content tool. In some cases however, you may need to fill out or digitally sign a form that is downloaded from the Internet and that may mean the document needs to be opened in Adobe Reader. If you run into this, you can install Adobe Reader for free by visiting https://www.adobe.com and clicking on "Adobe Acrobat Reader", which is typically located near the very bottom of the page.

How do I save a .pages document in Microsoft Word format?
The Assignments tool in D2L Brightspace may accept .pages documents, however, most instructors will not be able to view the document for grading. Did you know? All current students of Great Falls College MSU get Microsoft Office for free and it can be installed on up to 5 devices including Windows and Apple computers, mobile phones, and tablets? Visit this article for more information! If you still need to convert a .pages file to .docx, this article explains how Mac users can easily export their documents created in Apple’s Pages application to Microsoft Word format before submitting the document to Assignments. Open the document in Pages. Click on “File” > “Export To” > “Word…”. Choose a name for the file and a location to save the new Word document. (Note: Pages cannot edit Word documents. So, if changes need to be made to the document after exporting to Word format, they will need to be made in the .pages document and and the document will need to be re-exported as a new Word document.)
