The Learning Management System itself is responsible for making its tools and content accessible. Respondus Monitor When an exam requires the use of Respondus Monitor, LockDown Browser will access the Respondus Monitor web application prior to the start of an exam. It's important to note that from an end-user's standpoint (and hence, from an accessibility standpoint), the technology behind LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor are the same. Respondus Monitor simply inserts a few HTML pages along the way (called the "Startup Sequence"). In the Startup Sequence, the student performs a webcam check and other options as determined by the instructor. The Startup Sequence web pages are HTML and are supportive of assistive technologies compatible with web browsers, including input, magnification and screen reader technologies.

Faculty - How2 Allow Students To Use LockDown Browser On An iPad
In some cases, students may ask if they can use an iPad to take their quizzes and exams using Respondus LockDown Browser. There is a Respondus LockDown Browser app, available from the Apple app store, for newer iPads only (will not work on iPhones) that will allow students to take quizzes and exams that require LockDown Browser or Respondus Monitor but it will only work if the instructor enables that functionality from the Respondus LockDown Browser dashboard within Brightspace. The choice to allow iPads for this purpose is at each instructor's discretion and eLearning will never enable it for students who request it. The request will always be directed to the instructor to enable, at their discretion. Also, please note that it has to be enabled for each quiz/exam you wish to allow students to use iPads. Follow the steps below From within the course, go to Toolbox > Quizzes. Click on the LockDown Browser tab. Click the small arrow to the left of the quiz name you wish to enable it for and click Settings. Click Advanced Settings under the Lockdown Browser Settings section. Check the box that says "Allow students to take this exam with an iPad (using the "LockDown Browser" app from the Apple App Store). Scroll down to the bottom of the quiz settings and click the Save + Close button.
